"Back to the common room. Bloody first year."
The student scurried almost immediately and the pale seventh year was left with a twitching cheek and an expressionless face. He hated kids whom start sauntering and throwing rocks at the tree. Why? Because firstly, obviously throwing rocks at the tree is not going to give Nathan the satisfaction of seeing them sweep away in the dust and secondly, well the headmistress would go mad. And he didn't want to see that at all as well, he'd seen it many times before with the caretaker and the things that the students brought in from home.
You should have just gone to it He thought grimly, his face darkening at the words. Seeing a student fly away, would have cheered him up and lit a small tack of amusement but instead the boy was back safe and sound in the bloody hufflepuff common room - it sickened him. Nathan stood straight, brushing off the rocks that the boy had dropped on his feet. If only detentions didn't need warnings, then the student would have had three hours with him already. But unfortunately, rules were simple - warning, then detention.
He hated being a prefect sometimes.
It meant that he had to be nice and not beat up anyone whom tries to irate him or irk him in anyway possible. He had probably bitten his tongue in Hogwarts, than more than any other place. He was dead glad he was leaving, and dead glad that he could get the bloody badge of his robes. Speaking of robes, he really was getting tall - father must get him new ones, otherwise he'd grow and look like sodding Alice in Wonderland in that house.
Great - he was speaking whimsy.
Turning on his heel, the tall boy scooted the rocks down the slope and turned his head moodily around. That was when he heard footsteps. Really heavy ones. His eyes snapped as soon as he saw a dark shadow. "Oi! You! Stop right there." He exclaimed, marching quickly towards the place where he had heard the noise. Why can't these bloody people learn? It was simple. Do not go when it was past curfew.

Emily wanted to get to know the school better and decided to take a walk around the grounds. Well, after all she was a prefect and no one could really stop her. Speaking of prefects, it was really odd how she had been appointed one. Maybe the headmistress just thought it was a good idea to appoint a person with good OWL grades or something. That question always perplexed her.
Walking towards the grounds, she spotted a moving tree in the distance. It was highly odd the way it was moving, swirling and what not. Making sure her wand was safe in her pocket, she walked towards the tree.
It had hardly been a minute or two since she reached there and oddly enough, she heard a voice. She was a Gryff and nothing scared her. "Oi! You! Stop right there." Turning around, pulling her wand out of her robes, she said and just who might you be? questioning him. She could recognize that it was a guy and by the tone and the superiority in his voice a prefect, but she just let that matter aside. She walked towards the source of the sound, wand hand raised up, ready to attack if needed.

Hearing a voice in reply, Nathan grimaced. Wordlessly, he paused in his steps and frowned once more as he watched the shadow approach. That ruled out complete excitement as well now, the voice came from a person - not a lost centaur or a somehow talking unicorn. It was just another bloody person. He was somehow tired of people. "None of your bloody business. Now show yourself." His rudeness kept levelled on his tongue as something poked from out of the shadows.
Being asked to wake up in the middle of the night to get some random first year to get back to bed definitely tended to irk Nathan Chadwick. What irked him more than this? Nothing. Absolutely nothing. If only he could have shoved the badge into the students' mouth, he would have already. Stifling a yawn, the boy raised a tightly fixed brow at what seemed to be a tip of a wand. What did this person think? He was going to pummell her with his fierce duelling skills? He could, but firstly he had to get things perfectly straight.
"Firstly, you don't raise your wand to duel someone whom can obviously pummell you. Secondly, no girl should wander around at night and lastly, i don't bite." Maybe the last thing, wasn't true. Nathan was perfectly capable of threatening for his own good. If this girl wasn't going to go inside and be a good little student, well then he's going to have to wait until she does. "Now, you be a good little student and go inside before I see you."
He wasn't normally this nice - normally, he'd tell off the student right away but he had just quoted Alice in Wonderland, of course his madness had to escalate. As the shadows descended on the figure, Nathan levelled his brow and narrowed his gaze curtly. Now, he found another reason why he shouldn't tell off the girl just yet. She was bloody pretty. Shaking his head in annoyance, he focused his attention once more.
Stupid Madness.

"None of your bloody business. Now show yourself." First thing that turned emily off, rudeness. She normally didn't mind, but this tone was just too rude. She walked even closer to the sound revealing herself a little more with every small step.
"Firstly, you don't raise your wand to duel someone whom can obviously pummel you. Secondly, no girl should wander around at night and lastly, i don't bite." Firstly, you think too much of yourself. So if you think you can pummel me, try me. she said pausing. Secondly, I'm a prefect myself so watch whom your talking to. Thirdly, she said finally. You do bite. So yeah. That's it. Walking closer until she finally reached him. The moonlight hit her face better with every step and his too. He was cute no doubt. But Zephyr was just way cuter and he was sweet unlike this prat.

As much as Nathan wanted to deny it, he had a spot for pretty girls. However, the prettier they were – the worse he treated them. He distinctly remembered a girl called Lizzie, or Elizabeth rather – whom he’d had some strange crush on when he was fourteen. Merlin, she hated him now. He wasn’t exactly sure, how he got her so mad but she got so irritated by him that she chucked a chair at him in Transfiguration. He missed Eliza for around a week, then he got over the fact that she was gone. Since then, he never really looked for any other relationship – afraid, that he’d get chucked at worse. No, wait a minute; he was not afraid – just uncertain. Then there was that idiot Durnston, whom he hated more than Lizzie. Merlin help him if he ever met that girl again; – this just proved how much Nathan detested females. “Bloody girls” was what left Nathan’s mouth next.
Watching as the tightly fixing light of the moon levelled on her face, Nathan grumbled a bit more. “Darn you.” He drawled, restraining from stomping his foot in despair. Why do you Gryffindors torture boys like me? Was what he had heard a fourth year say before and right now, he was complaining the same thing. Listening to the girl protest and babble, Nathan haughtily laughed at her – mocking her rather vivid face. “Of course I think much of myself, because I deserve to” He hissed, his voice slipping into a swift undertone, “You’re a girl prefect, a Gryffindor and younger than me – point proven, so you may watch whom you’re talking to. And lastly, I have not given any sign that I’d leap and bite you, once again you prove yourself wrong.”
With another inward scoff, the tall boy laughed at her wand. “Please, don’t injure yourself” He said thingyily, “I can beat you with my eyes closed. There’s no rule on duelling horrid females you know.” Raising his head in a rather boastful manner, the boy gestured towards the night sky, his attention trying to wander from the girl’s rather luscious eyes, “And anyway, what brings you out? Don’t normally see girls out at night like this, I thought they try and get their sodding beauty sleep” Not that this one would need it…his thoughts continued wryly as Nathan coughed in distress. Darn it – he really hated females.

Emily just couldn't stand Nathan. It was truly quite annoying the way he talked to her. As if girls didn't have power and superiority. Well hello Nathan, if it wasn't for us, you guys wouldn't be living. she told herself. She would definitely like to say that aloud but just getting into a fight, wasn't exactly the thing she hoped for and even thought about for a second when she headed down towards the Whomping Willow.
“Of course I think much of myself, because I deserve to” "You’re a girl prefect, a Gryffindor and younger than me – point proven, so you may watch whom you’re talking to. And lastly, I have not given any sign that I’d leap and bite you, once again you prove yourself wrong.” she heard him say all that and now he was calling for it. As much as she would like to stay away and not get into a fight, she said without thinking I don't prove myself wrong. Its just that you arrogant brats think of nothing but yourselves and we have the courtesy to think about others. she snapped back.
“And anyway, what brings you out? Don’t normally see girls out at night like this, I thought they try and get their sodding beauty sleep” I'm not like them. In fact I actually hate the presence of them around me. I love to explore and seeing its my first year here at hogwarts, I decided to have a look around the place. she paused and then said in a questioning tone Why do you care anyways?
