Professor Katherine King
25; pure-blood, Proffessor of Arithmancy at Hogwarts; Owner of Flourish and Blotts Bookstoore
Kat King grew up the child of two very opinionated, well educated, pure-blood professors. She learned early on the value of hard work. She had a natural intelligence and ambition, despite being somewhat rebellious. With her parents 'encouragement' she was soon at the head of her class, in every class. As a student, she was a prefect as and eventually her school's head girl. That is, until she walked out of office the Headmistress, who happened to be her mother, in a huff. Kat eventually was reinstated as the majority of he school staff felt any other candidates simply weren't as well suited. She also played non-competitive quidditch from a very young age, and it wasn't uncommon to see her 'practicing' against her male schoolmates as she rose through the years.
When she was seventeen her father took up the defense of a muggle student, despite their pure-blood roots. He saved the child but he was killed in the incident. Professor King doesn't mention it much, not that she'd have reason to. She doesn't know many of her fellow professors yet, and it's not the sort of thing you open to your students with. That wouldn't be the last tragedy in her life however, four years ago her mother was found dead under mysterious circumstances. She keeps many of their possessions with her, as reminders of the parents and role models they were. Only recently has she actually moved to Britain from the states, although she has been 'around' , possibly in the UK for a time , since her mother died. There is more to her story, but neither she, nor anyone else have divulged much about the missing years between then and her arrival at Hogwarts as yet.
overall personality: She tends to come off as charming, ambitious, cool, and collected even though she does have a bit of a rebellious streak, competitive nature, and can be quite unorthodox in her methods. Kat tends to hold emotions in due to a traumatic past, but it is possible to break through that barrier. If you were able to manage such a feat, who knows what you might find. She's a very complex person, who isn't even fully aware of who she is herself.
friendsThere probably won't be hugging but she does need people, particularly older ones to have in her social circle. Friendships are likely to start as being, polite and civil. She's not overly big on sharing and has a few secrets. You might also be able to make a friend with her by friendly competitive rivalry, or intellectualism. she also has a few people from her past if you want your charcter to be one, or if you'd like to make a character to be one, let me know. Open to suggestions
professors/school/public officials
She's going to want basic interaction, if you'd like to provide that, great.
enemies She's pretty good at staying calm & collected publicly, although if you have a way to tick her off she won't hold back.
love interests
She's pretty emotionally guarded and a tough one to crack, but I suppose I'm open to anything. Vague? Yes. But really, anything.
students she needs them, all types. That's what makes school interesting?
store employees
She needs some. I actually have a few pb requests, but anyone will do.
